Heart Beats Music School is seeking passionate, dedicated, and ambitious music teachers who want to work in a supportive, collaborative, and creative learning environment. Positions Available:
Voice Teachers
Group Music Class Teachers
Pay Rate: $25 - $32 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
Voice Teacher Requirements:
Advanced proficiency in vocal technique and music theory. Classical vocal training strongly preferred.
Ability to teach at least to the late intermediate level
Proficient in technique and vocal health, demonstrate strong physical technique, have a solid understanding of harmony and possess sight-reading skills
Minimum of two weekday afternoons and evenings available, with the option to add a weekend day if desired
Teachers will start from scratch and build a student base gradually over the course of several months
Group Music Class Teacher Requirements:
Must have a strong classroom presence and a joyful, vibrant personality
Ability to sight-read music, sing on pitch, and intermediate-level piano skills (sight-read melodies, improvise simple accompaniments, and understand basic chord progressions)
Will teach curriculum-provided classes for toddlers (18 months+) through middle school, and occasionally adults
Availability on weekday afternoons, evenings, and Saturdays; some opportunity for morning classes. A set class schedule will be provided for fall and spring semesters. Opportunity to sub for other classes.
Fall semester will consist of training and co-teaching, with independent teaching beginning in January/February
General Requirements for All Positions:
Strong knowledge of music theory
Advanced skill level in your primary instrument
Actively pursuing or holding a degree in music
Proficiency in English (additional languages are a plus)
Must be local and available to teach in person
Professional, organized, reliable, and punctual
Strong communication skills are a must.
Proof of COVID-19 vaccination

Desired qualities and qualifications:
Advanced skill in your primary instrument, and a strong knowledge of music theory. All styles of music are welcome and encouraged, applicants should seek to be well rounded and have a desire to grow as musicians and teachers.
Applicants should have or be pursuing a degree in music.
Strong desire to collaborate.
Creative energy and approach to teaching and lesson planning.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Teaching experience is a plus, but beginning teachers are welcome and will be provided with materials and curriculum, training and support.
