Covid-19 Protocols for students and parents/guardians

  • Students and parents may only attend class if they are fever free, with no coughing or sneezing. If in doubt, stay home!

  • Everyone who enters the building must wear a mask.*

  • At this time, we are ceasing temperature checks upon entering due to the summer weather. However, if a student is/seems unwell, a teacher may perform a temperature check. Students/attendees with a temperature of 100.4 or higher will be sent home.

  • If there is another student waiting to meet their teacher when you approach, please maintain proper social distance.

  • The lobby / waiting area will be locked during business hours, except for shortly before class. Students and parents may now use the lobby at their own risk and must observe social distancing. Hard surfaces in the lobby will be sanitized once per day. Please note that the door to the lobby locks automatically; if you leave during a lesson time, your teacher will be unable to let you back in without interrupting the lesson.

  • Students and parents are strongly encouraged to use provided hand sanitizer before their class.

  • Students and parents must adhere to covid-19 protocols, or they will not be allowed to continue receiving in-person instruction.

What we are doing to protect you, and each other
In order to create a safe learning environment for everyone, we are enacting the following practices and protocols:

  • All teachers will wear masks, and will wash or sanitize their hands frequently.

  • A 2nd piano has been placed in each private teaching room so that teachers and students are playing on separate instruments. Instruments and benches will be thoroughly sanitized after each student/family. A screen can be used during voice lessons upon request.

  • Frequently touched objects will be wiped down periodically throughout the day: benches, chairs, tables, music stands, pens, pencils, magnets, door handles, etc., and all keyboards in the group classroom.

  • Teachers must be fever free, with no coughing or sneezing, in order to teach in person. If they are not able to teach in person, you will be notified as soon as possible, and your lesson will either take place online or be rescheduled. If your teacher is unable to teach at all, a sub may be provided, or you make reschedule.

  • Teachers will maintain social distance as much as possible while providing effective teaching, and will avoid or minimize physical contact except where absolutely necessary to facilitate teaching technique.

  • The safety of your family and ours is our top priority. We are monitoring the county risk level. At this time, we are holding both online and in-person recitals. We reserve the right to return to distance learning at any time. We will always let you know of upcoming changes as soon as we are able, and we thank you for your understanding and flexibility.
