About Musicianship Week

Every quarter, we have a week in which students attend group classes instead of their regular lessons. Students can use their Student Portal to sign up for their specified class. The deadline to sign up is 48 hours before class. Students in Certificate of Merit are strongly encouraged to attend a prep class corresponding with their level. You will receive an email with information and sign-ups several weeks before each musicianship week. For occasional online classes, zoom links and materials will be sent out before the day of class.

Musicianship classes are mandatory, and cannot be made-up (except with another class the same week). Classes cover theory, ear training, performance practice, music history, etc. through games and group activities. They are fun and a great way for students to get to know their peers while reinforcing concepts from their lessons. These are a regular part of students’ music education and are covered by your tuition.

Musicianship is also a great time to catch up on make-up lessons using the Student Portal.
